The sims 2 university wont start up on my PC?

I put it in, it didnt start by itself. The logo comes up that says the sims 2 on it, but then nothing happens. I restarted my pc and it still didnt work. i tried opening it from the desktop, the start menu...it wont work! The cd spins and the light blinks but nothing....

anyone know why? Or a way to make it work?

Did you uninstall and then re-install? I know it's a real pain, because my first time through I had major problems. My niece got a special holiday Sims 2 that we NEVER got to work, and she had to take it back - just a bum disk.

I can't tell you why or how to fix it. If it's ever worked on your PC, it's possible you can go in and find a date and re-set your computer to that point. I don't even know how to tell you to find it, but I've done it before just poking around. I don't suppose it's giving you any kind of message, is it? Sorry. Since you asked this a bit ago, maybe you have it up and running.

Try cleaning your CD. Sometimes a greasy smudge can do that. Sometimes washing it with mild dish soap then carefully drying it will fix the problem. Don't use a normal towel to dry your CD cos it might scratch, but a CD cloth, lens paper or microfiber is better.

do you have any other expansion cause if u do you can try the other disk. Like if you have Sims 2 Open for Business you should try that disk and click on Open for Business button.
