In the 3 years I've lived here I haven't seen any fleas. The cats are both treated with ADVANTAGE and the dog with SENTINEL. My bf complains now and then that he has a flea bite. Now he has one on his tummy and I have a similar one on my tummy as well. It is a raised bump and itchy. I have always insisted it's spiders but he won't believe me. The other night he woke up because a spider was on his neck.

A flea bite will be very small a localized... like a small mosquito bite. A spider bite, even a non-poisonous one, can easily spread to the size of a quarter with local tenderness, redness and a hot-to-the-touch feel. If that's the case, keep an eye on it and at the first sign of change for the worse, go to the doctor for a antibiotic shot. Spider bites tend to break down and dissolve proteins... and that's what flesh is.

If you have small harmless spiders in the house, do not kill them.

They trap and eat other insects.

My guess is that you have a few fleas around.

Try buying flea dust and throwing it down on the rugs before cleaning them.

Also, if your home seems a bit dry, you may want to spray it using a mixture of four parts witch hazel and one part amber colored listerine.

Good Luck.

I had a battle with fleas. It was my experience that most bites are on your lower legs and ankles. They usually appear in clusters and itch like crazy. flea bites are very small red bumps . if you are in doubt you can check the animals. Look arpond their necks and legs for tiny black flecks . This is flea poop ! You may also see the fleas themselves.

They're spider bites. Flea bites itch, but they don't swell, just show a tiny red scab.
