Paper clip? wow your a savage. I'd reccommend a needle. Thats what they use in the pericing stores. make sure you have a clean needle, make sure you clean it with alcohol. Whatever you peirce make sure that you keep it clean by cleaning it regularly on a daily basis. Don't perice a nerve and you'll most likely be fine. If your periceing your tounge i really reccommend not doing it yourself, you might perice into a tastebud and you won't be able to taste a type of sense i.e. sour sweet bitter etc. Oh by the way i have experiance from pericing my ears in the school bathroom with a needle during lunch. Using a paper clip will kill because it is too too too too dull! Use a needle!
You'll need:
An apple (For ears only!)
Ice
A lighter
A needle
Earing(s)
Pen
Procedure:
Cut the apple in half and put it under your ear and put a pen dot on your ear of where you want the earing. Now place the ice and numb your ear. Now you have to light the needle to sterilise it! Next take away the ice and immediatly push the needle through your ear. Now as quick as humanly possible trade the needle and earings place and put the earing back on. Do this however many times as you want sterilising the needle inbetween. Good luck!

DON'T try to pierce yourself. You should only allow a doctor or a trained technician to pierce you. If you try to do it yourself you could:
1. Damage the nerves in the body body part you're trying to pierce.
2. Rupture a blood vessel.
2. Develop a staph infection, which can cause you to become very sick and in some cases have lead to amputations.
Leave piercing to the professionals. They are trained to do the procedure safely. And they have the correct tools and instruments that have been sterlized to prevent infections.
JUST DON'T DO IT.

i would advise you not to, becasue i pierced my ears and someone else's bellybutton and both got infected... i was very careful and clean with it too!
well if u really want to....
get a safety pin and burn the end to make it steril.. if u have ear peircing cleaner clean the pin after. Use a solid ojcect that the pin can go through on the other side, so it has some kind of support. (apple)
clean and steralize earring u wanna put in.

Don't use a paper clip. Sterilize the needle first by boiling it, then ice your ears so it will numb a little. Now, bite your lips, and try not to pee in your pants when you pierce yourself. (:

It's very dangerous to pierce yourself--It's one of those "don't try this at home" things--go to a professional!

you dont....imagine your body eating the silver plating off that needle or paperclip and it being absorbed into your body. wont that be fun

DON'T. You can really hurt yourself that way. Infections and everything.
