I think it is great. I have always told every kid I know to wait until you are in college before you begin to date. That way you will not get side tracked with your education or extra curricular activities. Dating is a very emotional thing and can be very traumatizing. If you wait until you are in college to begin looking for a mate you will be more mature and better know what you are looking for. You will not have slept with a zillion people and will have more respect for yourself. You also will avoided going through making a baby before you are ready to complicate your life further. I have always told the girls, " You can get a man faster than you can get a cold glass of water on a hot day". Wait until you are ready and I have never met a teen that is really ready for a relationship. And one more thing....maybe your girl is just gay?

Ur friend is very intelligent. It's perfectly normal to want to be single. Being single at a young age gives u a chance to spread ur wings, achieve ur goals, and focus on getting into college. Tell her that I'm in the boat, she's def not alone!

Yes that is perfectly normal. I'm in my 20s and I know people around my age who don't want a boyfriend. Maybe she's just focused on other things right now or she just doesn't want to be in a relationship. Nothing wrong with that, everyone is different.

Its her person choice to have a boyfriend or not. She probably just wats to focus on school andh aving a good time with her girlfriends. Not every girl wants a boyfriend, some girls want to be independent. But she is definitely normal, whatever made you think that she wasn't? Some friend you are.......

Is it that she doesn't want one or that she doesn't know a guy that she wants to be her boyfriend and won't settle for something she's not interested in?

Good for her! Yes it is normal for one to know what they want and not feel they need to do what everyone else is doing. I like this friend of yours. She is brilliant!

Maybe she wants a girlfriend! It might be you and she is just too shy to tell you. What do you expect me to say I am a little devil!
