It could be the way you're shaving. If you are going against the growth path you are essentially cutting and pulling the hair follicles. This irritates the skin especially in sensitive areas like bikini and underarms. Try this: First wash the area with a gentle soap, then apply a thin layer of your favorite shave product.
Now if your razor gets full of soap and has little or no hair you have too much shave cream on the area. Clean off a bit until the skin is slippery but not soapy. Shave with the growth of the hair FIRST. Shaving in one direction will keep the hair lying flat.
Once the area is clear, then reapply a small amount of shave cream as before and now GENTLY shave in the opposite direction for a smooth finish. Try not to go over an area more than 2-3 times. This will help eliminate irritation as well.
AFTER you're finished wash the area again to remove all traces of remaining soap. Then apply a COOL or COLD cloth to the area for 1-2 minutes. This will also help with any irritation. Hope it helps.

That happened to me too.
Sometimes right after shaving or using wax strips it gets red and bumpy like a plucked bird.
What i do is to gently rinse with warm and then cold water.
Later on just apply a generous even coat of aloe vera gel (kept in the refridgerator) all over the area.
Its cooling and soothes the irritation also reduces the bumps really really quick. It works really well and I'll be ready to go out in my skirt in a jiffy.
Besides that, always make sure your shaving blade is in good clean condition, try rinsing with hot water and let cool before use as it can be a cause of infection.
Always shave with moisturising shaving gels otherwise there is a high risk of cuts and incomplete/thorough shaving.
Another problem you might encounter later is ingrown hair which you might want to exfoliate a bit now and then to free it from under the skin.

I get that too around the bikini area. The most luck I ever had was getting one of those hair thinning lotions, like Jergens, and I still get the bumps, just not as many of them. And it itches less.

Shave with a clean new razor. chande the blade every two weeks. you don't have to press hard. use a shaving cream and lather on legs. then press lightly and pull up. when done dry off and rub on lotion
