I am going to take a couple weeks off from partying, I have some really good friends...they always seem to make sure I am going out with them. I think they like to have a good time,I am just tired of the bar scene. How do I say, that this is not who I am anymore without alienating them or coming off prudish... I liek to hang out with them in ways better than bars and sports...

You find who your real friends are by being yourself. Your friends might not want to kick it with you because they're real friend is "Pleasure". Would they have wanted to kick it with you if you never drank or partied? Ask yourself that. And find the real friends that would take you in if all your family disappeared.

If they are really your friends, then they wont mind if you don't indulge in liquor or for that matter any party material.
If your friends are the types who can drink and not cause a scene or trouble, then perhaps you could invite them over to your place for a get together and let them know you don't care to drink, but if they want to bring along their choice of liquer they are welcome to drink.
This would assure them that even though you chose not to drink, that you don't mind that they do.

I go to the local dirttrack, where everyone has fun, and drinking is not only uncool, it is dangerous and will get you evicted from the track. They have kids as young as 8 years old racing in go carts and old timers in their 60's racing everything from karts to cars that are practically IROC quality. Or you can go to the dragstrip and race your street car, motorcycle, or most anything on wheels. Invite your friends to come along.

If they are good friends, they will continue to do the "non-bar" scenes with you. If not, you just have to find new friends. Good luck!
