It's raw fish wrapped in rice and seaweed with some wasabi (a type of hose radish) The fish can also be laid over a clump of rice with out seaweed. I admit it sounds weird. I used to be totally grossed out by the thought... my best friend FORCED me to try it and to my surprise it was delicious.

According to a hawaiian woman I know, sushi is the rice and veggies served with raw fish. The raw fish is called sashimi.

And when it's fresh, and done well, it is very good. Go easy on the wasabi if you try it.

But I still call it bait.
