First of all you shouldnt be giving out that kind of information. Secondly you should not have passwords that are so easy a stranger could figure them out. Third, it sounds like you are screwed my friend. If you do online banking and the like you should call your bank and utilities and any other business that you may have had confidential info in your email and tell them that your private info has been stolen in order to protect yourself from fraud. Be more careful in the future and set up another MUCH MORE SECURE email. Good Luck.

you need to email hotmail customer support and get them to close the account or atleast suspend it.
you should have had an email confirmation sent to the alternate email address you originally set up.
to confirm the account is yours you will need to tel the hotmail staff how long you have had the account, if you pay for any premium services such as the bigger inbox then your bank details with the date of the first and the most recent payment may be of benefit. but as it is a bankholiday weekend it is doubtful that you will get any response from anby company.
the fololowing is from the help section of the hotmail login (passport network log in) site.
If you think an unauthorized person has used your account
If any of the following issues occur, send a report to Microsoft :
You suspect an unauthorized person has used your Microsoft Passport Network credentials (Unique information that you use to access restricted resources. For the Passport Network, credentials include your e-mail address and password. They may also include a mobile phone number and PIN, a smart card, or a security key.) or signed in to your account.
You suspect a website that appears to offer a Passport Network sign-in page may be fraudulent.
You receive suspicious e-mail about your Passport Network account.
When you report the issue, be sure to include your full name, your Passport Network e-mail address, an e-mail address where you want the Passport Network to send the response, and a complete description of the issue.
Notes
If you think that someone else has used your credentials, see Reset your password or Change your password to help prevent them from gaining access to your account.
If you suspect a website that appears to offer a Passport Network sign-in page may be fraudulent, don't enter your credentials in that website.

That happened to a friend of mine earlier this year. It too a week to get it sorted, he said that the hotmail people weren't that help full either. He ended up scrapping that account and opening a new one. The only bummer was trying to remember all the email addresses. Luckily he had sent me a funny email he had passed on to nearly everyone in his address book so I was able to write them down for him otherwise he would have been well and truly ducked!!! Good luck babes, I think your going to need it!! xxx

Open a new hotmail and yahoo account and feed conflicting but completely bogus information about your bank details and credit card and boy/girlfriend addresses or fone numbers till you can shut down the account. The poor thief will not know which is or which isn't useful info.

I would contact MSN and see if they can help you out, but don't get your hopes up. Chances are you will need a totally new e-mail address. I like my Yahoo e-mail much better than Hotmail anyway since Hotmail decided to "improve" the system.
Hopefully you are sensible in how you use e-mail, and nothing of importance will be compromised.
Be extremely careful in what you post and how much information you give about yourself.

tis ok, sign up for a new hotmail account using a similar sounding addy and password, but not identical. then change your proxy. send a false email to a made up account to any email account you can think of. in the subject bar write, re: my bank account details. before you do this see if you can get through to your isp! by phone and tell them what happened and if they can track the ip addy of the thief.

Sign up for a new account seems like the only option.
You can try to email hotmail's help, however, I really feel like it would be in vain.

Can't really do anything. Just create a new account and inform everyone immediately to ignore and permanently block your email address.

get gmail, or yahoo. hotmail just accumulates a lot of spam.
