Not really. My daughter is 11 weeks old- she takes a bunch of cat naps through out the day. When we put her down for the night, she generally sleeps 6-7 hours, so I don't really care too much as long as she sleeps that well at night.

All three of mine had a nap schedule at 3 months. They all took a morning nap, 10:00 to 11:30 and then in the afternoon 1:00 to 3:30. Bedtime was 8:00 pm. My guys are now 9, 6 and 2. My 2 year old takes an afternoon nap from 1:00 to 2:30 or 3:00. All 3 of them go to bed at 8:00 pm.

My baby is 3 months old and she usually naps from about 9:30 to 11, and again from 2-3:30 and another nap usually sometime in the evening, usually only a half hour or so, before going to bed at about 8. She's not on a real nap schedule, I let her sleep when she needs it.

Kids thrive on routine. From about 10 weeks until recently my son went to bed around 9 got up around 8 took naps from 10-12:30 and 3-5. Now he naps from 11-1 and 4:30-5. He just turned 9 months. He is also on a feeding schedule and he is a very happy baby. My cousins 11 month old has never been on any kind of schedule and he is a very cranky boy. He even seems a little behind developmentally.

Pretty much - yes.
Baby sleeps 8-9 hours each night, going to bed between 8 pm and 9:30 pm. Wakes up, has breakfast, first nap 2-3 hours later. Sleeps 45 min - 1 1/2 hours. Eats lunch. Plays and we read for another 2-3 hours, then down for 3 hour nap (does this daily), usually 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm. Awake again, eats, plays until about 6 pm, then out again for an hour (more body clock than anything). Up again about 7 pm, then up until bedtime. Unless baby falls asleep sooner, we put our baby to bed at 9:30 p.m. Baby is asleep in 5-10 minutes.
We started the schedule at 8 weeks. Follow a routine. Do your best to stick to it. Even if our baby does not SLEEP during the naps, every 2-3 hours, there is an hour of QUIET time in the crib.

it is a good time to start.. you have to figure out what hours they are sleeping the most.. give a bottle with a little rice cereal in it to fill the belly and try to make them sleep longer... and plan on a "midnight bottle" too... hopefully they will sleep a little more after that.. then you want to try to plan three naps during the day.. morning.. afternoon.. evening. they will be short.. but you can plan bottles around the naps.. your baby will tell you when he wants to eat.. but if you keep track you will see a pattern.. and you can do your best to get them to stick to it. as they get older you will move to two naps, then just one.. it is natural for them to be on a schedule.. and I have found my babies are much happier when they have some kind of concept of time.. they know what is going to happen and when.. well.. if you have read this far.. I hope it makes sense.. good luck.. and remember.. you are the boss!! :)
