It says that I am not connected to the internet, but I am! Is there any other way, or is there a way to send it to a file? I need help from people who know this stuff!

If your browser connects okay then it sounds like you might have to give your firewall permission to let the Sims connect.

If you're using Zone Alarm, check to see if the Sims is listed on the programs list. if it is, then remove it, to get a fresh start unless you know how to hand edit it.

Then to start up your game, go to Start/Programs/EA GAMES/The Sims 2 (whereever the game shortcut is located and instead of clicking it to let it start, RIGHT CLICK and select the option called PROPERTIES -- then look at the tab for shortcut and edit the target link so it reads with a -w at the end.

On my computer it will be --
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\The Sims 2 Nightlife\TSBin\Sims2EP2.exe" -w
(because I have NL installed but just add the -w outside of the quotation mark)

Then click okay to shut the window. Then go back start/programs... etc and start up your game. It will open in a window on top of your other windows -- after it loads your game, try to go online again and this time when the Firewall asks permission to connect, you can say yes. If you don't run the game in a window, the firewall window might open in the background and you won't be able to see it.

If that's successful and you want to go back to full screen play, take the -w off the end of the shortcut, and you'll have full screen again. Or you can make a second copy of the shortcut with or without the -w so you have a choice.

Hope that helps!
