This summer I worked at a Starbucks licensed store. I really loved it, so I decided to apply at the new SB's that's getting ready to open. They gave me an interview and then a 2nd interview, but then they didn't call me. I thought it went well. My 1st cousin works at Starbucks + she talked to the district manager + she said she would hire me. Does anyone have any ideas why she didn't call me?

They are hiring now b/c they are currently training. Another reason why I want to go to the new store is b/c they pay more. And also I'm 17 yrs old.

I trained "partners" that worked at licensed stores, and those stores don't necessarily hire great people. They also don't follow the same standards and to top it off, licensed concepts generally pay more. So they may have decided you would be difficult to re-train and for less money. Starbucks is great, but there are lots of other companies out there that will see the name Starbucks (not knowing the difference) on your resume and it will look really good.

Two possibilities: (1) they aren't ready to hire yet, or (2) the district manager has received a poor reference from the other Starbucks. It is okay to follow-up, though, and you should do that after a few days have gone by.

Might not be hiring yet, or maybe not hiring everyone right now. Try to do a follow up call and see how it goes.
