Well, for some strange reason girls are trying the lesbian lifestyle these days and are acting like it's no big deal, and the way society accepts everything these days and it's like anything goes. I guess they feel they have nothing to lose by giving it a try.
Personally, I don't believe gay people are born that way. I think they just get fed up with the way their lives are and wake up one day and say , " I'm going to try something different ".
My daughter is 20 and never tried the gay scene, but in highschool many of her friends did. Most of them had boyfriends before they become lesbian and most of them have boyfriends now and don't talk about their lesbian days, like it didn't happen.
Well, your question wasn't why they do it? , but what do you do about it? Well, if you are totally against it, you can tell your friend how you feel and have nothing to do with her again. Or if your freind means so much to you that you can tolerate her lifestyle for the sake of that friendship, then you should still tell her you don't approve of it, but that you want to remain friends. Be honest either way. Live with it if you can and you don't have to live with it if you don't feel comfortable with it. It's really up to you. And who knows, maybe it's a phase with her like so many young girls these days.

It depends somewhat on where you are. Here in Puerto Rico people won't even mention the word since it is so taboo.
You can go with your instincts but I would think that it would be good to talk to your friend. Maybe she just likes sports and feels lonely. But if she has decided for that life style, she still needs friends.
I am not gay but one gay prof practically saved my life during a time of crisis. I am not saying that you have to hang out with any certain type of people but, if you feel comfortable with it, just talk to her to find out what is going on.

You should not be freaked out just because she likes girls instead of guys. Apparently she is not attracted to you in that way, otherwise she would have asked you to be her girlfriend. Either be her friend or not. Your decision.
