If you don't know, then you got some living to do.
The word MEANING is a noun that refers to the idea conveyed by life. Huh? Does anyone really want to tackle this in 100 sentence or less? I suspect you're looking for certainty or security. Ain't gonna happen pal. That's an inside job.
My suggestion is to DO what is or you think is meaningful and in 40 years when you look back and ask that question again, you'll be able to answer it.
Cheers!

The Meaning of Life
Why are we here? What's life all about?
Is God really real, or is there some doubt?
Well, tonight, we're going to sort it all out,
For, tonight, it's 'The Meaning of Life'.
What's the point of all this hoax?
Is it the chicken and the egg time? Are we just yolks?
Or, perhaps, we're just one of God's little jokes.
Well, ça c'est le 'Meaning of Life'.
Is life just a game where we make up the rules
While we're searching for something to say,
Or are we just simply spiralling coils
Of self-replicating DNA. Nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay.
In this 'life', what is our fate?
Is there Heaven and Hell? Do we reincarnate?
Is mankind evolving, or is it too late?
Well, tonight, here's 'The Meaning of Life'.
For millions, this 'life' is a sad vale of tears,
Sitting 'round with rien nothing to say
While the scientists say we're just simply spiralling coils
Of self-replicating DNA. Nay, nay, nay, nay, nay, nay.
So, just why-- why are we here,
And just what-- what-- what-- what do we fear?
Well, ce soir, for a change, it will all be made clear,
For this is 'The Meaning of Life'. C'est le sens de la vie.
This is 'The Meaning of Life'.

Life is the characteristic state of organisms. Properties common to terrestrial organisms (plants, animals, fungi, protists and bacteria) are that they are cellular, carbon-and-water-based with complex organization, having a metabolism, a capacity to grow, respond to stimuli, reproduce and—through natural selection—adapt.
An entity with the above properties is considered to be organic life. However, not every definition of life considers all of these properties to be essential. For example, the capacity for descent with modification is often taken as the only essential property of life. This definition notably includes viruses, which do not qualify under narrower definitions as they are acellular and do not metabolise. Broader definitions of life may also include theoretical non-carbon-based life and other alternative biology.
The entire Earth contains about 75 billion tons of biomass (life), which lives within various environments within the biosphere.

The "meaning" is life is the knowledge which is gained through the struggle of life itself.
Examples:
1) The maturity of enduring the boredom of the daily grind.
2) The strength you gain from overcoming adversity that you did not know you could overcome.
It is life which gives you knowledge, and it is that knowledge which is meaningful.

The meaning of life is to live it individually, and to survive it through everyday obstacles(problems)life is like a test and you go through different levels in life you believe in what you believe and what you want to believe,in life your past and you depends on the future that you gonna bring upon yourself and others, life is reality,if you do something wrong, foolish, stupid or anything you can face the consequences such as: something minor like a fall, cut, badluck, something major like an accident, broken body part,an injury, being unemployed, etc. Or a tragic problem such as,something worse like near death or total death, depending on who you are and what you do now and in the past and what you do right now, depends on what you gonna be in the future and where you gonna be,this is the meaning of life, hope this helps!!!!! :-)

Life is a journey. You have not heard that? We all start and end at the same places. It is what you do in the middle that counts. Day by day. Every day. What you do to prepare yourself for your life (an education) and how you live your life is what counts.

Let us see.......how about
Living as long as possible and acquire as much as possible
Learn as much as possible and become a sage
Be as gold as gold so as to shine for all to see
Become pious and irreverent
Or perhaps be a Johnny Appleseed and fertilize the world
And then again......perhaps.....nothing at all.
Politically speaking it seems to be conquest.
Scientifically speaking, the answer seems to be 42
I'm okay with that...see you at the restaurant at the end of the universe.
