I vote for the answer that helps the most and if their are none I either vote for the most humorous, or sincere, and if there are none, I put it to vote.

I've only asked two questions. One is still open. I don't know what I am looking for in a best answer and won't for a few days.
The other was a philosophical question that has no one right answer. I looked for inputs that showed the person answering had given it some serious thought.
I don't look for people who agree with me or have come to a conclusion I have already reached. That would be a waste of everyone's time.
I conceivably could choose an answer that I totally disagreed with if the person presenting that answer showed the right combination of intelligence and thought.

I take it all under consideration, I do not pick the answer I agree with. The best answer has a little humor, mixed in with some information that I can really use. I like to look for the sincere answers first, then really read them for content. I try not to ask a question in a way that will invite people just to agree with me. Hey, if I already knew I was right, why ask a question? LOL.
I like the new rating system, it allows me to vote for several really good, sincere answers. They can't all be the best, but occasionally, everybody has had a good answer, and I get to tell them so.
Good question, thanks for asking it.

Depends on the question. If someone takes time to share a personal experience & write a lengthy response I would be inclined to vote for them. If it's a silly question I'd vote for the best silly answer. If the info someone gives is very helpful. It really just depends on a lot of things.

I award points to a variety of persona's, some answers are to the point, while others take a life time to answer by forever pasting shitt to simple questions to appear intelligent, then intelligent answers are not always what your looking for either, a good laugh is always welcomed to the appropriate or even inappropriate of questions. I mostly go with the answer that's relatively closest to that which was posed.

I vote for an answer that actually answer's my question, and that is helpful, and that is a full sentence. Not that is just a couple words long. I like to reward those who put thought into their answer's. They do not have to agree with me, Some questions I require they not agree with me.
One time I wanted them to not agree with me in answering my question ,and out of about 30 answer's only 1 person answered my question who disagreed with me (which is what I wanted) and so that I why I rewarded that person.
This is how I reward people the points.

I vote for the answer that best addresses the question, whether it be in agreement with me or not. I don't vote for the funniest answer. I figure people who give that kind of answer are really going for the 2 points, not the 10.

Ive given best answer to the one who has really answered the question i asked, not to be funny. i take it very seriously. i don't vote for an echo to my thoughts. the person who gets my vote has to be intelligent and thorough in his ability to answer the question.

Intelligent and funny answers are the ones I want to hear, so of course I'll give best answer to the one which is both.

It depends on the question. For example, if the question is a serious one then I take whatever answer seems most helpful. If it's not, I let it go to a vote.
