I am an alcoholic and a child of an alcoholic. The role I played is difficult to describe. I was mean and nasty, but then I became one and finally understood what it was all about. Obsessive behavior and to not being able to stop drinking. My dad has passed away so I don't know what his attitude would have been because he could never give it up as I have done.

no i havent read any of those books. but i am an adult child of a father who was a bad alcoholic. he died at the age of 46 from liver disease,,,and i watched him suffer to the very end,,,,he still managed to drink even though he couldnt stnad up for long and would fall down,,,,he also bled from the mouth ears and cough up clots of blood. i wasnt even sorry he passed away because he made our lives a living hell!!!! i turned out being that i cant stand to drink and i hate being around anyone who cant handle it. makes me sick. its a sickness ya but i dont feel sorry for them.
