My mother is elderly, living in a nursing home with severe dementia that has progressively gotten worse for the past several years. I miss her very much, even though I go and visit her, she's not the same as she used to be.
I recently dreamed that I went to visit her and she was her old self again, perfectly lucid and happy to converse with me. I was so excited about being able to talk to her, I couldn't think what to say... so I said, "I think about you ALL the TIME" and she looked at me with surprise and said, "Really? I never think about you." She acted like she was sorry that she didn't think about me. In the dream, I was a little shocked, but then I told her, "That's OK, Mom, you thought about me all the time and now it's my turn to think about you."
As I woke up, it occurred to me that in her state of dementia, she probably doesn't think about me like she used to. But I still have to go and see her and pay attention to her needs, like she did for me when I was too little to take care of myself.
Often, when people get old, their loved ones think it doesn't matter if they visit them or not... they don't know who we are, etc. But it does matter.

I have a recurring dream about houses in various stages of disrepair. I have had this dream probably 20 or 30 times, but never the same house in the dream.
It is always dangerous, there are holes in the floor or flooding or something.
I always wake up freaked out.

I have a recurring dream where I find out I'm pregnant. BUt I looked into it and that signifies a "birth" of inspiration and creative energy. So I thought back on all the times I"d had that dream and it usually prefaced something really lucky and amazing happening.

Best Dream- Singing lead for a band in front of thousands of people, one of my great friends was the guitarist, and I got to crowd surf for a while.
Most Memorable- My church being invaded by Japanese Military... and they weren't happy... that was scary.

so many, the ones that are from God about the future would have to be called the best, but I adore the flying dreams and the ones where a loved one who has passed spends time with me.

good question. i had a dream about 10 years ago that stayed with me. i dreamed that myself, my husband, and once young children had barricaded ourselves in our home against "the teen agers" that were coming. (our children were all adult at this time of the dream) "the teen agers" in my dream were so violent and massive that they took over the world and were trying to destroy us, take over our homes and our lives, and other families homes and lives around us. we were all devastated and concerned for our safety, and just couldn't understand what was going on. i dreamed my youngest daughter, whom is now 29, was in our bed holding us closely next to guns i've never used before and she was saying "mom, dad, please save us". what a weird freaking dream that was. we refer to it as "the teenagers are coming" dream. best of luck with your question.
