In a speech before the US Senate, Mrs. Clinton stated her opposition to the advancement of stem cell research on the basis that she feared that this would end in job and social discrimination based on genetic quality. Aren't liberals supposed to be the ones that would support that? Does anyone else think that it sounds like this queen of the social elite questions her genetic quality and possibly her fitness to hold her lofty position??

In this particular instance, I'm confident that Hillary is posturing "for" the "people" and against the insurance industry.

So she doesn't want genetic "typing" to proceed.

Are you sure she is also against stem cell research? If she's against stem cell research because it might result in discrimination, that is a position... that... makes... utterly... no... sense... at... all. Even nuttier than her health care plan of 1993 that got laughed out of the Senate.

If stem cell research can be used, as they say, to make new limbs, organs, and perhaps cure several perviously incurable diseases than I'm all for it.

I think the fear comes from trying to reproduce complete humans or animals. This has never worked to any helpful degree and I doubit it ever would. But I don't think there's any reason to be against it as long as it was studied in a way that benefited everyone and wasn't being used to clone humans or animals.

I don't think that area of it is right. I think it would pretty much be science fiction becoming reality if that happened. You'd wind up having someone that looked like your relative, husband/wife, bf or gf, cat/dog whatever, but they would have no memories of you or anything, and they would likely lack the personality that you were familiar with because they'd be gone. They would just look like that person and that would be the end of it. I doubt they would even have a soul or anything.

But I would gather that Mrs. Clinton's comments stem from the sudden partnership between the Clinton's and the Bush family, very strange indeed to me. Oh well, nothing anyone can do about it, it will be interesting to see how that relationship pans out in the end and also who actually becomes the next president.

Hillary Clinton will say anything in front of any group to get support. Whether she believes it or not. She taught Bill the art of prostitution. And look at what it got him. Not the Presidency, but his legacy. He is still trying to make a name for himself, even after being the supposed 'leader' of the free world for eight years.

I heard it characterized to me well a few years back. The Clinton style of leadership is to look for a crowd and then go as fast as you can to get in front of the crowd, and proclaim they have all arrived to listen to you.

Hillary is looking for crowds to get in front of.

If she stands by her decission then thats fine. But if I am to vote for her I would need to make sure that she actually stands for something and does not just say whatever she feels will get her more votes.

Hillary Clinton is airing her personal view and not her party's platform. It is good since she do not have to influenced by her party.

Remember that she's a carpet bagger (no, I mean that she's not really from New York) and that she will do you say pretty much anything.
