It is, but while it is carrying the soul, it should be treated carefully and respectfully.

I don't believe in souls, so no. I would, however, agree to the statement that the body is a mere disposable carrier of our genes. Without reproduction there can be no further life, and the purpose of reproduction is to pass our genes along to the next generation.

Yes, I agree with that statement. While on Earth, we are supposed to treat our bodies like temples. Take care of them the best that we can. However, no matter how run down, or pained our bodies become, our spirit (soul) is still very lively. Once we leave this life, our bodies return to the ash of the ground. I believe, though, our spirit lives on. I think God, redispurses our soul into another form of life. We may look different, but our soul remains the same.

Hmmmm, disposable??? The body is precious to our soul. To abuse it and merely dispose of it is an attack on our very existence as a light that shines brighter than our eyes can see. In other words, our body prepares us for what is next, like an egg blossoms into a fetus and so forth to become a child, our bodies blossom unto our brightest and so forth... our bodies are our souls growing.

I believe that it is a carrier for the soul, but that it is not intended to be disposable, that it is not 'merely' a carrier; in that there is dignity and meaning and value to the body itself; and, that if we cannot or do not learn to take proper care of our present bodies, who is going to trust us with new and imperishable ones...?
If the rightfully designated wearer does not take proper care of the body entrusted to him, what would be the point of giving him an new and indestructible one with greater capabilities...?

Yes. The body is the shell that houses the soul. The soul lives on, the body does not.
