Yes, I own a gun. Several in fact. I grew up and live in a rural area of the midwest where when my father was a child during the depresson, he and his brothers put meat on the table by hunting. I grew up hunting and fishing. I, and my many cousins, where "trained" in the proper and safe use of firearms and to respect the game. No trophy hunting. You shot it, you eat it.
You are going to get a lot of anti-gun responses to your question. I can understand why people feel the way they do with all of the gun crimes being commited. But remember, it is the person not the gun who kills. If more, so called, parents now days would put the effort into raising their children properly with love and respect for others instead of mething and cracking it up, perhaps gun crimes would go down. And yes, my guns are within the law.

I own a snub nose .38 Smith and Wesson
I have used it on the gun range, not for any other reason, but its ready to stop any intruders.
I have a 2 step home security program. I have a feisty 22 pound dog who will bark if anybody breaks into the house, step 2 is the .38.
Its perfectly legal here in Florida.

No, but I used to. Rifle and shotgun when I was young 16-21, when I got married and had kids I gave them away as to be sure an accident couldn't happen. Never bothered to get another, although I know that my boys since they've grown up have learned to shoot, and hunt a little, don't own any either. Owning a gun and misusing a gun are two very separate issues.

I have 3. I have a Ruger P-9 because I live in the sticks and my husband works nights. I have a 30-06 cause my husband is an avid hunter, and I have a 20-20 because it is an antique and handed down from my husband's grandfather. They are all legal. I have used them all because what good is a gun if you don't know how to use it when you need it. I have target practiced with all of them and my husband has shot many deer with them. Now don't go getting all animal activist on me because we eat the deer.

1. No, too expensive for too little use right now.
2. It's legal depending on the state and type of gun and your history. You need a permit generally, laws vary by state. Certain types are illegal for U.S. civilians to own, like assault rifles with burst or full auto capability, you can sometimes own these guns if they are changed to semi-auto only

No I don't have a gun, as they are not legal in the UK, but for Airsoft etc, & shotguns as I understand.... but I do like to target shoot!!
The way things are going here though, I don't think it will be too long, before all the Cop's are carring them: and then we may see more 'Public' with them... legal or not!!!

I dont think guns are good just for homes, theyve done way worse than good in society. A good example is in England, a few years ago someone went into a schol with a MACHINE GUN and slaughtered like 40 people injuring another 30 just because he had a licence for a gun for his use. After that England banned that rule, no one can have a real GUN in their house unless in police... bla bla bla.
I think USA should do the same

Yeah, I own two shotguns, three rifles, and a pistol. All are legal and I shoot them regularly. I guess I should clarify that I have only used them for target practice, hunting, and things of that nature.

No, I never own a gun, but I grew up around them. My dad, my brothers and many of my relatives own them and use them. Mostly used them for hunting or target shooting; although some claim to use them for home defense.
