How can a person find out if persons are pressurising water pipes to force chemical based substances in through the pipes to make families sick? How possible is it to do this? As we know a family that is possibly having this done to them. These are legitimate questions and not paranoia, who can we turn to with authority that will not destroy the family for asking? Also this family we know of has a gas hot water system under their house and their are possibly people squirting something in the top of the hot water system so that when it ignites quite toxic vapours are forced up through the floorboards to make the young children and the parents sick. Please can someone help with advice and serious repliers only.

I seriously doubt if someone is trying to do this to the family. You might want to contact the gas company and have the home tested for Radon poisoning. Here is the site for symptoms: http://www.cureresearch.com/r/radon_poisoning/symptoms_printer.htm

Depending on how the house is heated or what appliances are in the house, (gas cooking stove, water heater, wood fireplace, etc.) there could be carbon monoxide poisoning and no one would know because it is an odorless, tasteless gas. Here is the site: http://health.yahoo.com/ency/healthwise/hw193731 Click on symptoms and see if any of them match what the family is experiencing.

Again, call the gas company to run tests on the air quality of the home.

Depending on the age of the house, the water pipes may be corroded. If they are iron there may be too much rust in the water, is it an orange color? If they are copper pipes they corrode also and make water bad. Check out this site, it is for Texas, but the information is pertinent to any plumbing: http://fcs.tamu.edu/housing/efficient_housing/water_management/home_water_quality_problems.php Have a plumber check the pipes.

Good luck I hope this helps.

Thisevent is impossible due to the vaporlock caused by the U-shaped bend in your sink. The Pressure needed is very small but when your sink explodes I would Start Running out of the house. Either way many biological agents take time to work and most cannot survive without a human host long enough to make the journey through your water system. (Not to mention all the Purification at teh Water Purification Center)

I don't think what you suggest is likely. I would be more concerned about byproducts of incomplete combustion. Or perhaps a gas leak. By all means get the local utility to check things out. It's almost always a free service.

You can take a water sample to your local health department to have it analyze, there is usually cost involved - and you can get an air sensor - at Lowes Hardware or Home Depot to check the air content!@

You need evidence. Get your water analysed and the fumes from the gas flue by an industrial chemist/laboratory.

I would seriously consider seeking a lawyer, a plumber possibly, and a building inspector possibly to investigate the situation.

The first step for the potential victims to contact their local poison center, which will be able to direct them to a toxicologist if required.

Did the neighbors' dog tell you this?

Sounds more like someone at home has Munchausen's by proxy.
