I realize that this question has been asked here before. "Redneck" can mean different things. It can be either an insult or a compliment. But I think Jeff Foxworthy nailed it when he defined it as "a glorious absence of sophistication". Given this definition, I think most of us are rednecks at one time or another, to some degree. I know I am & I have relatives who are. What about you? Don't be ashamed!

I think of it more as a Racial slur...kinda like using the N word. I wish it would stop, but realize the tongue and cheek effect it has on people. So, to answer your question, yes..we all fall victim to this definition at some point.

I have some redneck members of my family although I would not classify myself as such. I actually like rednecks - they're fun and entertaining.
