Like you said, no one knows.
If however, scientists would in the future come up with a correct theory regarding time, then some new phenomenon might come up and we would have to re-examine it again.
I have a frustrating feeling that "God" has been redefined time and time again to what is just beyond the boundary of human understanding and reach. So who is to say you are not correct?
Perhaps time is the current nature of "God" -- until his life changes his nature that is. However, that is a rather limited, passive and unconscious type of "God". To be more accurate, I would need to say passive and anti-conscious -- or consciously deceptive, because it is always receding from our science.
I honestly do not know how useful this notion of "God" is to anyone -- Christian and scientists. The only positive spin to this is to say, "God" is science and accept that we have unknowingly began the long process of understanding "God" by discovering all the unknown parts of science -- or at lease the parts where "God" is.
IMO, that seems to be the only way for many parties to appear to be correct, not knowing if it actually is valid or not.

Time is the passage of the future into the present and the present into the past. Time is a companiin that walks with us, and learn to use wisely. Time will one day end and then eternity.
