Because they don't have what you have bottom line! Some people expect for someone who has been abused or direspectedto not get as far because they are too weak or too afraid of the world to see what they are really like because of what they've been through. Many girls that have been abused physically, sexually, or emotionally seem to hold back and feel like that cannot mave on because of the MONSTER that has scarred him/her for life! No matter what you go through, you can make it. Doesn't matter if you came from a broken poor home, you can still be successful in life and acheive the things and accomplish it. Go after what you want and don't let anyone stop you not even the person who has abused you. tell that person "No matter what, you will never break me down or take advantage of me again because what you've done to me has made me stronger!" If you are someone that has been abused don't just sit there and let it happen again. You need to be strong and stand up for your f**cking self and stop being so sensitive and weak. I will never let any won't take advantage of me or tear me apart. I'm want to be a professional model and artist and no one will stop me. If I can do it, you sure can an you will definetly get far because I have faith in you! Just have faith in yourself and God and you will be what you want to be. Just be yourself, be you, stay true! Love Ya Lots!
P.S. Women and children are at risk so be strong and have faith in God!

I think there are people who, if they know your history, would be jealous of how far you've come. But, I've always felt that kind of negative response to the success of someone else has to come from a person who feels something lacking within themselves.
When I see someone overcome barriers and on the road to success, it makes me feel good. It reminds me that I can overcome the issues in my life also. I would say that the negative comments you're receiving are from people who come from a place of jealousy and selfishness. I would just let those comments go in one ear and out the other. Just blow them off and keep doing what you're doing.

Some people are hated by others because they come off with a "take a flying leap attitude". My daughter is in a bad situation right now but she has personally brought it upon herself. She is in to drugs and most of the time she acts just as I have described. And then when she is down from her drugs she wonders why her parents are upset and why her friends have dumped her. And then she finds out it is because she has said things and treated people so disrespectfully that she has destroyed friendships. We love her but she feels we hate her because we won't help her out anyway but food vouchers because we can't trust her with money and because we won't condone her lifestyle.
Sometimes, though, people are just judgemental and judge before they know the facts of the matter.

Because of you're background, of what you've been through.
They see it all as if it is your fault.
There are 2 main rypes of people in this case:
1. The ones that pity you.
2. The ones that hate you for some odd reason. In some cases, it's not plain hate, they may just feel uncomfortable and have this tendency to inch away from you. Why? Not sure, still trying to figure this out myself. This uncomfortable feeling may come from the fact that they see you as different. But they may just as well have their own reasons.

I can completely relate. It is sad but true that everyone is screwed up whether they admit it or not. People tear people down who are above them and mock people who are below them. There will always be somebody above and below for everyone. You have apparently overcome so much and can be very proud of yourself. There will ALWAYS be aholes in the world, there is not much that can be done about it. Did you ever hear the saying nobody kicks a dead dog. Well they are saying stuff because you exist, everyone gets it one way or another. Keep doing well for yourself, it is the best revenge, or so I have heard.

I don't know you so I can't tell you. Perhaps you should ask some of your friends.
"They are just jealous" is not a valid answer. I don't know the people who talk badly about you and I don't know *you*. I'm glad that you are in college and doing well and I hope that you continue to succeed.
