My friend works at a hotel and met a man there.

She is 14. He is 48. And she tells me all about him and how she loves him and how he's sooo sweet and nice to her. She thinks she is in love. For all i know, she could be!

But i'm scared for her. She knows that, but ignores my requests to stop attempting a romantic relationship with him! He's MARRIED, for god's sake!

Her future "plan" is to somehow get him single again, get him to love her, and marry him. Not only is that effing impossible, it would be morally WRONG if she succeded.

What should I say to her?

This is probably more common than you think, though it sounds to me that she's got it pretty bad.

One thing to consider is that this might just be one of those "silly teenage things". When school starts up she could meet a guy there and hotel guy will be off her radar.

But if you think that this is a serious thing, it might be best to go to her parents with your concerns. She might think of this as a betrayal, but you're thinking of her safety and emotional wellbeing over everything else. If you let things progress naturally, and she goes to this guy with her feelings... chances are he's not a pervert, but you can't really risk that.

Hopefully she'll understand that you're looking out for her, If not, somewhere down the line, when she matures a little, she'll realize how silly she was about all this and thank you for your concern.

She has the teenage crazies!Quick! Let her parents know what she is thinking, before she gets some poor slob in trouble with the law!
I sincerely hope he is just a nice guy & not planning to take advantage of her!
Hooray for you!It certainly is immoral!Does she accually know what that is?Ask her how she would feel if some other girl came along & took her boyfriend or husband!Little 14yr olds have no business looking at any man & thinking they are in love! She needs to be in Sunday school!

You need to tell her parents if you care about her. She needs help. God only knows what could happen to her if she is attracted to men that old. Please, talk to her and tell her that when she is 48, he will be dead!!!!!! I worked in the motel industry for 10 years and all of those men that come in there are lonely for their wives and will say anything and everything to get in bed with you. She needs to wake up. What hotel would hire a 14 year old anyways?

OMG, can you say American Beauty, pedophile,or OLD MAN BALLS? Seriously, if you can't get her to listen to you, you might have to tell someone else. This could lead to a very dangerous situation and I know you are worried.
Try and tell her that a man of that age could never have true feelings for her other than lust or sexual intentions. Take her out where the hot guys her age are and hopefully she'll get interested in someone else. Best wishes!

Tell her to forget him and find some one her own age. Ask her this? Does she realize she's beeing targeted by an online sexual preditor? Get the FBI or police involved and put that jerk in jail wear he belongs. She needs to find a person her own age. And God forbid she'd succeeded. His wife would hate her for life. Does she really want that. And the age difference is too high. He's nearly old enough to be her grandpa. That's just sick and wrong. I'd get her off of the internet for now. Hope this helps.

Why do some answers suppose he is a rapist , maybe he is not
I am 48 I dated many teenager girls , never looked at them sexually , I helped them as a dad , they needed a dad and I needed a daughter , time proved that I was a good encounter in their lives, a perfect dad and daughter relation , later they were successful in their lives and marriage, It is not a single case I know many good old men in such friendships, believe me many girls need dads and many boys need moms ,
BUT TAKE CARE : No sex No deceit No bad intentions No selfishness No lies No harm.
