It calls for unleaded. Does the engine knock or ping on acceleration? If it does, move the timing or use and higher octane.

Ok, your truck takes unleaded, im 110% sure!!!

The reason tetra-ethyel lead is used in racing fuel becuase it is a great way to increase the octane rating of the fuel cheaply.

Lead was used in older cars because the compound of the valve seats was made out of a special alloy that was soft(easy to machine) when lead was put onto the valve seats, it would make the alloy hard, so it would withstand wear.

If you try putting UN leaded gas in a car with "softies" (which are usually pre 19 69-70) they will make them incredibly soft, and your valaves can "pull through" and/or warp so they do not seal right.

Leaded fuel is still available I run it in my race truck, it has a very low amounts of lead all engines now are designed to run on unleaded fuel if the motor pings up the octane

tru putting sugar in the gas tank, that will let you know if you need leaded gasoline or unleaded by the sound of the motor.
