Turn off the tv, the computer. Take a piece of paper and a pen/pencil, and just write down whatever comes into your head. It doesn't have to "mean" anything or even be finished later. The idea is just to write. You will be surprised at the results.

A book is a door to another realm, set there by goblins to trap innocents for feasting, a man hides constantly waiting to rescue the innocents, dressed in rags looking for the way out also so he can find the book and destroy it. How's that for a beginning. It was actually a dream I had a long time ago.

Write a story from the point of view of David Letterman's stalker. She does all these over the top things, but she -thinks- she is being rational.

Just start jotting down ideas no matter how stupid. Take the most boring or stupid idea and try like hell to make it interesting. You might spark a few good ideas along the way.

My grade school teacher used to ask us to write. He would give us a sentence which we should use to build on our topic. So here's one for you to try.
Norma puts on her apron, meticulously inspects the meat she is about to stuff into casings. She is discriminating, as winemakers are in selecting grapes, about what goes in her sausages.
It came from my blog: http://othercity.blogspot.com/2006/08/charcutier.html

Pick a few characters. For example, a girl, a fox, and a man. Give them names, Tammy, Jack, and Tim. Give them ages, make up their background history, and have them meet. It'll go from there. Good luck and have fun! : )

Writer's bloc is someting that comes and goes. Best just to wait for it to clear. If this isn't for school, then you can wait for inspiration.
