for women familiar w/ using birth control for acne...?

does it make u hungry? do u gain a lot of weight? :(

i've noticed that i'm like STARVING breakfast lunch and dinner, no matter how much i stuffed myself. and my skin isn't getting that much better, does it take longer than a month to start working?

The only birth control pill that improved my acne was Jasmin. I tried 3 others and they all made it worse. The latest research I've seen (and that has been on the news,) shows that the pill doesn't cause weight gain but that women just naturally gain weight every year as the age. I think that the pill does cause weight gain though at least intially. Often in the first several months of taking it while your body is adjusting you can get a lot of PMS like symptoms such as wanting to eat a lot. So, you just have to decide if you have the patience to wait for 3 months to see if everything improves.

In the first month or so, you may have an increase in appetite.
To avoid gaining too much weight, try to eat a lot of bulky, low-cal foods like celery, other vegetables, soups, water, etc.
It will likely take 3-4 months for the hormone to regulate your cycle enough to notice an improvement in your skin.

I am familiar with women taking Acutane for acne. That stuff really worked for my daughter. She took birth control during the treatment because Acutane could cause birth defects if she got pregnant. Look up Acutane and see if that isnt more what you are looking for.

I tried the pill for acne years ago, and it never worked. Finding the right soaps and lotions, plus de-stressing my life worked way better.
