I have a D-Link DI-624 router, and I just bought a new laptop and tried to set up the internet and realized I forgot the password to my router. Can someone tell me if there is a way to get my password without resetting it so my other computers will still be fine.

Thanks.

I have a D-Link 624, the Default User Name is admin and the default password is blank.

If you've changed the password from the default, I think the only option is to reset the router. To do this, you need to insert a pen tip or paper clip in the little hole right next to the power cord and hold it there for 10 seconds.

Once you reset it, the default user name and password will work, but you have to run the router setup again.

Sorry, but it seems as if resetting the router is the only option. I don't see why resetting it would hurt your other computers, aside from a few minutes without the internet. The settings to your router can be reapplied fairly quick. For this next time around, write the password down.

The only way to get into the router is either reset or password. Just hold the reset button for 20-30 seconds. Then use the default password to get in. (usually admin) then set up a password and wep. The other computers will only need th new wep number.

Do you mean the password to log into the router setup pages, or the encryption key? If it's the former, you'll need to reset the router; if it's the latter, and you know the password to log into the router setup, log in and find out the encryption key there.

If "password" doesnt work for the password try spelling out administrator and "password" I seem to remember one of the router manufacturers using their brandname as the password try dlink for the password dont use the hyphen in d-link. also try admin and dlink

Ya gotta reset the puppy.

If you don't still have the user manual, you can download it from the dlink.com web site -- I suggest you download it BEFORE reseting the router though!!

Good luck!
