What about if you say a woman hit a man? I know I would with the man hitting the woman, but I don't think I would if I saw a woman smack a man. I don't know if I'm right or not, but the reason why I think this is because us women just aren't as physicaly strong (though we can tolerate 80% more pain than a man) as men. Do you agree with me? Or am I in the wrong?

sorry, not "say" but "saw"

I'm not saying that anybody deserves to be hit by someone else....what I am saying is that when a man has had enough being "whacked around" he can put a stop to it where a woman would have a harder time putting a stop to it.

I wouldn't stand up in either situation because I wouldn't want to get in the middle of it. If it's bad enough, I'd discretely call the police.

I may take some heat for saying this, but in either situation--whether it's the man hitting the woman or the woman hitting the man--it should be taken into consideration that the person being hit might have brought it on in some way. They may not actually "deserve" it, but they may not be totally innocent.

But when a person hits another person without good reason, it is assualt no matter who is doing it and it should be acceptable to report it.

It's dangerous to step in because you can get hurt. The right thing is to call the cops. A woman being hit by a man could be in more serious danger, but if a man is hit by a woman, it's still an assault and it would still be right to report it.

I would and have called 911. It is not okay for anyone to be hit. I would try to refrain from personally stepping in though, even the police will tell you that Domestic Violence calls are about the most dangerous situations there are. Emotions run high and anger can turn on you in an instant, even from the victim.

I wouldn't step in because 1. I'm not stronger than a man and I doubt if I could verbally get him to back down. 2. I always wonder if you're making a situation worse for the woman when they get home. If she wanted to get out of that situation then she would but really most of it is up to her. If it were a friend then of course I'd step in.

I do not agree with you on that point. One way or another, someone is getting abused & I would step in no matter who is hitting who.

It's not about the pure strength. The humiliation and emotional trauma is where the most damage is done. With the exception of self-defense, NO ONE DESERVES TO BE STRUCK BY ANOTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would call 911. Let the police sort it out, you never know what kind of crap you can get yourself into by interfering. You could have both of them turn on you.

i agree with you. men can usually defend themselves and most of the time women can't do much when their husbands are being jerks and whacking at them
