It is never a good idea to have wild animals as pets. Meerkats, especially. You may think they are cute, but if you had one as a pet, it would be very cruel of you.
Meerkats have distinct social hierarchies and need to live in groups of 10 or more. Having one as a pet would mean that you are interfering with its natural way of life, and would be considered abusive.
Get a cat or a hamster or something more suited to being a pet.

meerkats are in the same family as farrets, its against the law to have meerkats but you can have farrets
