I think some of us are born short sighted and its not until we're in our teens that they bother to test our eyes properly.
Yes, perfectly normal.

It is very common and a study confirm that more than 35% of the world population have this problem and the % age sporting spectacles is around 31. So you can also have glasses.
However you can choose one of the following options to over come it.
1. Wearing Spectacles after proper testing
2. Using Contact lenses
3. Laser treatment which is a permanent solution and you need not go periodically for testing and changing the glasses/lenses.

I think that wearing glasses can be considered completely normal my brother has had to wear glasses since he was 6 years old so don't feel bad about needing them now. I suggest getting some frames that go well with you skin tone and facial shape then have the lenses cut to fit. Once you get used to them you will wonder how you ever survived without them.
Fringe benefit - At school if a somebody breaks your glasses you can depending on the situation use that as grounds for getting them expelled permanently if needed.

If you short sighted babes ,,this is not gonna go away !! why
your optition not suggest glasses ?? There are great glasses and lenses too be had out there, not like my day, it were wire
rims and as near as damn'it you could see !! go for it babes,,
sett the trend,, if you go for lens, why not go for coloured lens
(they not impede yr sight ) or go for an offer 2 for 1 ,,lots of
Optitions have these.. If you opt for the lenses, stick with it
I had weeks of trouble putting them in !! but eventually just
like putting your pierced earrings in !!!! good luck

I'm short sighted and it wasn't identified until I was in my teens. I have glasses, but I only really wear them when I'm driving. Don't worry - it's perfectly normal.

i needed glasses in my teens too, it made difference to my school work as well since i could now see the blackboard. you can see for close work but not distance there is nothing wrong in wearing glasses, there are some lovely styles around now.
when choosing your glasses take into account the shape of your face, colour, and whether you plastic or metal frames.
i would suggest metal frames, these will not break like plastic and if you fall and knock them, they can be put back into shape.

im in my teens and i wear contacts so yeh i need glasses nd its normal. It does run in the family as all my one side of my family are short sighted. It might get worse as you grow like mine has but eventually it will slow down. Just buy some funky glasses and wear them with confidence and buy contacts when your feel ready, they are dead easy! :)

I wouldn't worry about being near-sighted at your age. As you get into your forties, you'll tend to become far-sighted and then you'll need reading glasses or bi-focals. It's always something, isn't it.

Everyone is different.... I would just advise to find yourself a nice pair of glasses, you can get some nice trendy ones now... Even the NHS ones are not too bad!
