I'm looking at buying a house -- needs fuel oil tank replaced (not leaking yet) -- located in hte basement. Looking for ballpark costs of new tank, installation, disposal of old -- Simsbury CT area

Removing the tank from the basement is a good thing. Modern building codes prohibit the installation of fuel oil storage tanks in the basement so your new tank will have to be located outside the home. Some communities require that they be buried for cosmetic reasons. Your local fuel oil dealer or heating contractor will know.

if i'm not mistaken in ct the new oil tank must be put outside and buried new law about six or seven yrs ago approx over a grand how much over unsure get at least three estimates
