If you live in her house, it is her house. Sooo....She can.
If you live in your own place, then she has no business then.

If you live with her it's not rude nor nosy. If you don't live with her yes it is. when you are 20 or 2 if you live with your mother you are going to be looked at by her as her little girl as long as she has to make a space for you in her home. Sorry but being a mother myself once the responsibility of taking care of another person starts for you it's hard to stop caring and checking on them. Especially when to your mother things are the same. You being 20 doesn't change that much to her. It's really no different then you being 12. I know sounds weird. But when you were 12 you probably was in middle school starting to take on more responsibilities. My point is your mother has watched you grow helped you grow and been the one to tell you what to do. To stop the space invading you have to break the pattern of her taking care of you in her mind. Meaning you have to move and not need her money nor help at all. Then she will back off.

I just know that if I had a 20 yr old and their behavior would give me reasons to invade their privacy than I would...but I think these things are all tied to bonds we have with our mother while being raised by them it all depends if they have been our friend and have given us room to open up, share and give advice without trying to be controling than its one story, but if they've always forced us to close up and be secretive b/c afraid of punishment than thats a different story, just put your self in her shoes I mean mother is mother no matter how old u are, some care too much, some dont care enough, and some are too obssesed with their love for us that they dont have balance in what they do with us emotionaly...try to talk to her nicely but weigh things out depending on your relationship through the yrs...

If you are under her roof then she has every right to know all that is going on in her home. If you are out on your own then she has no business invading your space.

No matter how old you are you are still her baby. Try talking to really sit down and talk to her. Maybe she does not realize what she is doing. She wants the best for you and maybe this is the only way she knows how to do it. Talking is the key .Good Luck.

For your mother you'll always be a little girl, that is a mom thing, you have to start to set the boundaries or it will get out of hand

It could be rude and nosy.Do you live in her home to make it her business. If not tell her to lay low on your business. You do have rights and need your own space no matter where you live.

If you still live in her house, she's got a right. But if you're on your own, just tell her. Sometimes moms have a hard time changing roles from mommy.

Yes, but if you live in the same house as her, it's inevitable. Sadly, moving out is the only way to solve it most times.

If she pays the rent on the roof over your head, I would side with her.
