I'm 17 years old and know better than to do that. I was driving to the grocery store and this woman (who looked to be in her early twenties) came pulling up in the middle of the road and wasn't paying attention to nothing. She was to busy talking on the phone and putting on lip stick or something. We were almost in a wreck...all because she wasn't paying attention. Luckily I was able to swerve over. I'm not saying I'm the best driver in the world, because I know I'm not...but I don't do things that I know would hinder me, like talking on a phone for example. Has anybody else annoyed by situations like this?

When you talk on the phone while driving to get directions or an emergency has come up that is ok but to talk on the phone about stupid stuff while driving is not! I think that whoever is going to talk on the phone should make sure that they aren't going to have to make turns, yield to anyone or go into a parking lot before talking. They should wait until they are driving in a straight line! I usually don't like to talk on the phone while I'm driving, but if I need directions to get somewhere, yes I will be on the phone. Otherwise no.

Honestly! I've been driving for 35 years and there's very little I haven't done whilst driving at one time or the other. So now there's all the panic about people talking on cell phones whilst driving. Oh, it's so unsafe! Oh dear, we need more legislation! We need video cameras in people's cars so we can prosecute them for EVERYTHING! Apple eating, smoking, drinking a coke, chewing gum. It's all so dangerous! Let's test drivers not just for drugs and alcohol, but stress levels, caffeine, sugar, PMT hormones! Jail everybody! In fact, why not just mummify people altogether and hang them up in cold storage so that no-one can do nothing and nothing can happen to no-one and then we'll all be safe. Gee ...

Yes, I've been almost hit by a driver talking on a cell phone more than once. Driving while talking on a cell phone should be illegal, like driving under the influence of alcohol. If they lost their licences, maybe they would stop before they kill someone.

Talking on cell phones while driving should not be outlawed, stupid people who can't ddrive normally shouldn't be allowed to talk on cell phones while driving. In some California cities, they require you to use an earpiece if you are driving on the phone. Also, the police can cite you for "driving distracted" if you aren't driving correctly while on the phone.

I've seen people drive while talking on their cell phone, applying makeup, drinking something, and eating an Egg McMuffin. Everyone who multi-tasks thinks that they're in control and are driving perfectly. They're NOT. They're all hazards on the highway and statistics are beginning to show it!

I can talk on the cel phone and drive just fine. It is only people who are retarded and cant multi task that are the problem. To me talking on the cell phone is like having a passenger with me. I only need one hand to steer so there you go.

annoyed yeah. but if she crashed into you, it's her fault. so that's her lesson.

cell phones are a convenient way to reach someone whether in emergency or business deals. the best thing to do is use a handsfree device.
