What do you mean "some"?! It's 97% of all popular music today. There's hardly any real talent out there. They don't market talented musicians. Sometimes they slide through, but too many people who listen to the regurgitated crap don't support those musicians because they're not as pretty as the ones they're used to. If you take a good look at musicians from the 60's & 70's, not all of them were exactly pretty. But, they rocked! And, forget the 80's. That's kinda when it started.

That is sad, but a way of life...I believe that looks should not matter as much, but they do.
If two bands competed against each other, and BOTH were equally talented, but all the band members in one band were ugly (according to society's view of ugly) then the other band would probably win.
Using a band situation is an example, but good looks most always "score" when it comes to competition.
The older one gets tho, helps...we see beyond just the outside!

Because no one needs talent anymore with the technology we have today. All you need to be is super skinny with a full chest and they'll put you on the album cover. Not many people will pay for an album with an extremely overweight person on the cover. Its all about attraction.

A lot of times it's the record label who markets them in that fashion, that's why great bands get left behind while mediocre ones with "cute" members excel. It's tragic for people with real talent :(

Because "image sells" What do half naked women have to do with all the dumb adds on tv and in magazines. I just seen on the news that now little kids are going to spas and getting work done. When is it all going to stop.

Because kids watch TONS OF MTV and all the crap on there is controlled by their publicists in order to meet the expectations of America's crap music loving youth.
