First, find out what you pay for a gallon of water. Usually you are charged so much for the first few hundred gallons and more for each additional hundred gallons. Look on your water utility bill and divide the total bill by gallons used, to arrive at the cost per gallon.
To determine how much money your toilet uses, multiply the gallons (usually about 5 gals.) by the cents per gallon you are charged. This allows you to know the per flush cost.
