It sounds like your a little put off and jealous. Not all answers here are "mediocre". Some folks have very intelligent advice to give that more often than not is "simplified." If the answers on here seem so mediocre to you, then maybe you need to look elsewhere for your entertainment.

Because simplified answers are easier to understand. Why overcomplicate new knowledge if you don't have to?
The best answers come from people who truly understand what the questioner was looking for. Did they want something smartass, or synophantic, or sincere? It varies from asker to asker.

Because our society likes things in the forms of something we can slap on a t-shirt or use for a bumpersticker. It's the age of advertising meets attention deficit- and we all have it. Our energies are devoted to increasing measures of saving time (microwave, cell phone, computers- to name a few), so we can waste it doing something more "worthwhile." So, no one has time for long answers.

They don't always...
However, I think it depends on the asker...what they want to hear or what is funny. Maybe they don't really want a good answer,
they can only understand simple messages.

Why do they? because most people are already in a tough situation and want to hear a quick resolution to their problem, so there fore quick gets it done. meaning short talk gives them support, because really they do not want to hear the truth they just want to vent.
