I use Napster mostly - they offer 3 ways to get music. You can either pay 99 cents per song as you go and they're yours forever to play, burn, or sync to portable devices (MP3 players) as many times as you want, or you can go the subscription route for $9.95 a month to download an unlimited number of songs or albums, or for $5 a month more you can then sync your "rented" tracks to portable devices

I don't buy a lot so I just use the "pay as you go" for 99 cents per song - that way I don't have to worry about the DRM licenses expiring. My second choice would be Wal-mart at 88 cents per song - they don't offer a subscription plan so they're strictly "pay as you go".

I like imesh because you pay a monthly fee( I think $6) and you can download as many songs as you want. If you want to burn them, it is like $0.99. This works great if you are like me and play a lot of music form your computer. You can download an album in about 3 minutes, with a high speed line. This way you can download and listen to what ever you want, without have to really "pay" for the download yet. I think I downloaded about 2000 songs/comedy sketches in my first month.
