The Exorcism of Emily Rose:
Plot
In an extremely rare decision, the Catholic Church officially recognized the demonic possession of the 19 year-old college freshman. Told in flashbacks, The Exorcism of Emily Rose chronicles the haunting trial of the priest accused of negligence resulting in the death of the young girl believed to be possessed and the lawyer who takes on the task of defending him.
Lawyer Erin Bruner (Laura Linney) takes on the church and the state when she fights for the life of a priest, Father Richard Moore (Tom Wilkinson) who performed a deadly exorcism on a young woman, Emily Rose (Jennifer Carpenter). Linney must battle the state lawyer as well as her own loneliness, as she realizes that her career so far has not fulfilled her. She takes the case, albeit reluctantly, because she believes it will elevate her to senior partner at her law firm. The priest agrees to let her defend him only if he is allowed to completely tell Emily's story.
The trial begins with the calling of several medical experts by the prosecutor, Ethan Thomas (Campbell Scott) who testify that Emily was suffering from both epilepsy and psychosis. The defense contests she may have actually been possessed. Several flashbacks show how this began. Alone in her dorm room one night, at 3:00 AM, she smells a strange burning smell, hears noises, and sees a jar filled with pens and pencils move by itself. Additionally, her covers roll themselves down, and a great weight seems to press down on her,a force which also procedes to lift her shirt up and seems to posses her momentarily. Through these episodes she wonders if they are really happening or if it is it just a hallucination she is experiencing. She suffers more "visions", is hospitalized and diagnosed with epilepsy. She is given anti-seizure medications which she claims do not work. Her visions continue, as do her severe bodily contortions.
She leaves school and returns to live with her parents. She and her parents become convinced she is not epileptic or mentally ill but is possessed by demons. They ask for their local parish priest to be called in to perform an exorcism, and the Church agrees. The prosecution counters that all this could be explained by a combination of epilepsy (the contortions) and psychosis (the visions).
Meanwhile, Erin begins to experience strange occurrences at 3:00 AM, including strange smells and sounds. Father Moore warns her that she herself may be targeted by demons. Later in the film Father Moore explains that 3:00 AM is the witching hour, which evil spirits use to mock the Holy Trinity. Significantly, it is the opposite of 3:00 PM, the hour at which Jesus died.
Seeing that the prosecution is putting up a seemingly solid medical case, she decides to try to show that she may have actually been possessed. She calls in an anthropologist, Dr. Sidur Adani, to testify about various cultures' beliefs about spiritual possession.
A psychiatrist present during the exorcism comes forward to reveal an audio tape made during the rite. The priest is then called to the stand to testify. The tape is played and the movie then flashes back to the exorcism. It is performed on Halloween because Father Moore believes it might be easier to draw out the demons on that night. The priest, Emily's boyfriend, and her father are in the room. Emily is tied to the bed. The priest uses holy water and various words from the Bible. She speaks in tongues, including Latin, German, Hebrew, and Aramaic. Several cats run into the room, jumping on the priest and knocking him down. Emily breaks her ties and jumps out the window, running into the barn. They follow her. Inside the barn, they are subjected to more supernatural phenomena such as unnatural gusts of wind and demonic screams and voices. The demon inside Emily refuses to name itself after repeated demands from the presiding Father until it is revealed she is possessed by SIX demons, rather than one. They go on to identify themselves in dramatic fashion, naming themselves one after another in dual voices from Emily. They identify themselves as the demons that possessed Cain, Nero, Judas Iscariot, and Legion. Beyond that two demons name themselves directly as Belial and "Lucifer, the devil...in the flesh."
The audience flashes back to the court room. The priest says that after this Emily refused another exorcism but also refused to take her anti-psychotic medication. She died a few weeks later. The prosecutor contends that her speaking in tongues can be explained by her having gone through the Catholic Catechism, in which she could have learned these ancient languages. The priest admits that it might be possible that she did indeed learn them there.
Erin then wants to call the psychiatrist but he does not show. She walks outside and sees him on the street. He says he can no longer testify, but he does believe in demons. He is then hit by a car and killed. Later that night her boss tells her she has ruined the whole trial and that if she recalls the priest to the stand she will be fired.
She calls him the next day. The priest then reads a letter that Emily wrote him before she died. In the letter Emily describes another vision she had, the morning after the exorcism. She walks out of the house and sees the Virgin Mary, who tells her that although the demons will not leave her, she can leave her body and end her suffering. However, the apparition goes on to say, if she returns to her body she will help to prove to the world that God and the Devil are real. She chooses to return. She concludes the letter by saying "People say that God is dead, but how can they think that if I show them the Devil?" She then receives stigmata, which the priest believes is a sign of God's love for her, but the prosecution counters that she could have received the stigmata wounds from a barbed wire fence on her property.
Father Moore is found guilty but on the recommendation of the jury is sentenced to time served.
The movie continually debates back and forth whether Emily was really possessed or merely suffering from mental illness. It is largely left for the viewers to decide for themselves.
Erin is offered a partnership at her firm for saving Father Moore from extended jail time, but she refuses and in fact quits. She goes with Father Moore to Emily's grave, where he has put a quote (which she recited to him the day before she died) from the second chapter of Phillipians on her grave: "work out your salvation with fear and trembling".
Cry Wolf:
Plot
The movie follows a group of students at a private high school who, after a young female "townie", named Becky (who did not attend the private school) is found murdered in the woods, decide to take a game of trust and mistrust one step further by creating a killer. They send a hoax email, forwarding it to the entire school, to "warn" them that the killer, known as "The Wolf," will strike again. Soon, however, it appears that the killer is real and has begun to stalk and kill the group of friends. Awkwardly enough, the students are dying the way they had explained earlier, meeting their own, original, grisly fate. Is the killer real? Or is everything part of an even bigger prank?
In the end, the original killer's "victim", who is Becky was in fact killed by Dodger, the first friend Owen meets at the school. Dodger had been having relations with one of her teachers, so she killed Becky in order for her to be the only one that he cared about. The Wolf was part of a large prank that all of the group of friends were in on, except Owen. But actually, none of them knew about it until the very end. Near the end of the movie, believing him to be The Wolf, Owen kills Dodger's professor - a killing Dodger had planned from the beginning. Owen then realizes that Dodger was the killer all along at the very end, when everything gets pieced together.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose
Is based upon a true story, the events that lead up to the death of Emily Rose. Emily Rose (Jennifer Carpenter) was a young college student, who believed she was possessed. Her family and her pastor did everything they could to save her. This was not your typical horror flick. Though there are some scary scenes throughout, this story is more about Emily Rose and her story. A story that her pastor, Father Moore (Tom Wilkinson), tries desperately to tell during his trial. Erin Bruner (Laura Linney), Moore's attorney, tries to defend Moore whom she believes is a good man. This movie scares you without confirming Emily Rose's possession. Despite the horror angle, this movie is also about self-sacrifice, love and loyalty. I think horror movie fans might be disappointed with this, however, I thought it was really good. A scary movie with a good plot and a good message.
Cry_Wolf
I saw the movie at an early preview, and had no idea what we were getting into. At first, Cry Wolf seems like it's going to be a traditional, straight-forward slasher movie, but soon you begin to realize that there are layers within layers, and the result is a movie that's increasingly suspenseful and intriguing from beginning to end. It would be highly unfair to give away the plot. It's appropriate only to say that each of several of us was surprised by the ending. Most of the actors are talented unknowns, with a couple of established actors (Jon Bon Jovi, Anna Deavere Smith) artfully used (Bon Jovi in a major role, Smith in a minor one). The movie cleverly weaves in current technologies (especially instant messaging) in a way that heightens the suspense and is sure to enhance its appeal to young audiences. Great production values, cinematography and editing -- all elements contribute to a movie that's one of the best of its genre.
Final Destination 3
First of all this was a great movie. I would suggest it to anyone that loves blood and guts and gore. And if you enjoyed the first two Final Destination movies you will love this one. I know i did. This movie was a brilliant, imaginative, and very realistic done by the writer. I would have to say i give him 2 thumbs up, and Vote 10 for being a excellent movie. It starts off very suspenseful, and ends with a cliché sort of. All i can say is its all DAJA VU all over again. Wow. The only complaint i had was that it was only 90 minutes long. The choose their fate special feature on the DVD is pretty cool also.

Excorsism is based on a true story about a girl who gets possesed by demons and her family tries everthing to try and cleanse her of the demons inside of her (sad not scary)
Cry Wolf is about some kids in I think college, who found out about a woman who got murdered in the woods, so then they make a club called the liar's club, and they make a story on the internet about how the lady got murdered by a serial killer called the Wolf and he plans to strike again,(a teacher warns them about the predators who lurk on the web and then of course they don't listen) then the kids start getting killed or "dissapering" and their "story" or "game" becomes real (basically they are trying to scare the sh*t out of people and they get killed themselves).
Final Destination 3 is about (in the first two movies, some college kid made a prediction that they were gonna die, they did, I think the first movie, they died on a plane crash, the second I dunno) some teenage girl who goes to a amusment park with her friends and she makes predictions that they are gonna die, like one or two people died in the roller coaster, then later on they all die, even the girl, by weird accidents, no there is no killer on this one, just some weird curse about seniors never making it to college. (P.S This movie has a special Choose Their Fate thing where you can choose if they live or die, it's pretty cool, I never tried the Live or Die thing but i'm pretty sure that's wht it is.)
The most scary one of all these would probably be The Wolf, cuz' there is suspense and a killer, Excorsism is sad and based on a true story but some parts are freaky (likes she's walking on the cielin and stuff, and the priest can't excorsise her cuz' there is too much evil, they "scare" him away) and Destination 3 is just like death, but not very scary, but sick and the amusement park rides would scare the hell out of me if they were real.
Hope this helped! Have a nice movie Fest! (*Hint, don't watch these in the dark at night ALONE, cuz' it's WAY scarier then!)

exorsism of emily rose is about a girl who was supposedly possed by the devil and how they exorcised her, and i think she dies in the prossess
cry wolf, is about these college students, (if i remember the right one) playing a prank about a serial murder on campus, and then there really is one
final destination 3 was good, it was like the other two final destinations, except they see the order they die in in pictures that was taken on a roller coaster
