Hello, well, people don't realize it because ...
A) They could be rich and they now have and/or can/are able to obtain whatever materialistic goods they want to their each and every whim, so what do they have to complain about??
B) They are poor but have dreams of money.
C) People are materialistic people and don't really give.
D) People are just stupid and blindsighted half the time anyways; they don't realize a lot of things in this world.

Money is a necessary tool, what people do with it at times is wrong. The love of money is the root of all evil. Not money itself. Money simply magnifies what you are. That's why so many people can't hold on to it even if the have a million dollars, they won't keep it unless they are millionaire on the inside. Also, why so many covet after it, as they are seeking money to fill a void only God and true character can fill.

With it, it "destroys our world" as you put it. Try living WITHOUT ANY MONEY for a few weeks, try to trade for things. DON'T USE ANYTHING DONATED. See how long YOU can survive.
