I don,t believe in racial profiling...but I do believe an accurate description should be given of suspects....leaving out the race , so as not to offend...doesn't help us find the culprits.

Yes it should be. If it were a mad group of grandmothers that had been involved in 9/11, then lets go after them and be more vigilant about it - but for some reason, it's deemed as too Politically Incorrect to point out that the predominant group of terrorists that should be persued are Muslim males between the ages of 18-40.

Our Political Correctness (PC) may just get us killed - and I hope we get over it at some point. Otherwise, another 9/11 event may happen again.

We wouldn't have won WW Two with this mindset - the West is at war with Radical Islamic Fundamentalism, and until we get over our PC society and realize we are at war, we will be vulnerable.

Racial profiling is racism committed by lawn enforcement. It would escalate into a more general type of racial profiling. There is another ways to prevent events like 9-11. I am all for order enforcement, against the line of thinking where the end justifies the means…
It would be the beginning of chaos.

I think 9-11 changes our view on profiling, however, we have learn from this disaster that problems are not limited one specific race.
9-11 brought out that religion plays a role in today's problems. Age also plays a role.

I think to some extent profiling is needed, so what if it's race, religion or age based. The world has changed as we know it.

Racial profiling is going to happen no matter what you do. Its a fact that most terrorists today ar Arabic. Its a fact that most pedophiles are white males between the ages 19 and 45. Its a fact that most gang related violence tends to happen between minority males under the age of 30. If you are looking for a specific crime, its best to figure out who to look for. That is what racial profiling is all about.

Racial profiling should never be acceptable. There is an inherent and very real danger in profiling. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S. began profiling Japanese Americans and placed them internment camps, which is a violation of their civil liberties. Profiling now would be a disgusting set back for the United States.

So, why do the police stop and arrest more minorities than whites? What can explain this besides racism? The answer is simple: The police stop the offenders who are described to them by victims. The unfortunate truth, according to Uniform Crime Report (UCR) and crime victimization survey data, is that blacks commit a disproportionately higher amount of crime. Social scientists have been arguing the cause of this forever. But, the most obvious reason for the disparity is that poverty is also not distributed evenly through society. Blacks are poorer and less educated than their white counterparts. Therefore, like their Irish and Italian immigrant predecessors, they commit more crime than the general population. The most stunning statistic is that blacks commit a majority (over 50%) of homicides and robberies in the United States. This is significant because when police officers respond to crimes, they look for the offenders who are described to them by witnesses. Who is being described to the police? Black males. Of the Part I crimes, the crimes that typically have witnesses involved with them are homicide, rape, robbery and aggravated assault. On the other hand, frequently the other Part I crimes of theft, burglary and car theft have no witnesses. Cops are simply investigating the people who are being described to them as offenders. If you were the victim of an armed robbery and described the offenders as two black males who fled in a red Chevy, who would you expect the Police to investigate? The responding officers are certainly not going to randomly stop people in the surrounding area. Instead, the Police are going to stop people who match the general description provided to them by the victim...you. It should also be pointed out that the people who are describing the offenders to the police are also frequently minority. Blacks are also the victims of crimes more often than whites. Of course, to some people this would just be evidence that the criminals are racists.

I don't think it should be legal to a certain extent. I don't think it should be legal at all. And not just since 9-11. Since humanity began. But we white people were savages, and most of us have changed.
I don't think either race in society should be racially profiled.

Racial profiling should not be accepted in any form, it's wrong to judge a person based on outter appearances, and by allowing racial profiling to happen, it is just saying that everyone from that certain race is wrong. It's something that shouldn't happen, and it is sad that it happens everyday.

You should never judge anyone because of their race or the color of their skin.
Racial profiling is really dumb because you are judging someone from only the outside.
One thing you must remember is judge not lest you be judge yourself.
When you racially profile someone all you do is set yourself up to be profiled.
If you are black does the mean your ancestors were slaves, not all blacks in this country were slaves, not all whites in this country were slave owners.
When you profile someone or assume that someone is a certain way you will most likely be wrong.
All Arabs are not terrorist, they are just Arabs.
