To get rid of only certain searches:
type in the first letter so all the searches that started with that letter pop up underneath. Put your cursor on the one you want to delete....Dont click on it just put it on there to where it highlights it and push the delete key on the keyboard.
ex. search is tire....
Type in t and all the t searches will pop up.
To get rid of all searches:
Go you to your desktop. Right click on the Internet Explorer icon. The "e" icon. Then click on properties.... Click on delete cookies.
This will delete the searches. You can also clean out your temporary folders from there by clicking the temporary folders button. You can change the amount of time that you keep your history stored also. (History is where all the links to websites that youve been to stay in the address bar)

for all search boxes to be emptied just go into the "control panel" then "internet options" click on the "content" tab at the top then go into "auto complete" switch off all the boxes then click "apply" for everything thats still in there, in "internet options" click "delete files" "delete cookies" and your searches will not show up any more in yahoo or any search fields you type into...

Have a close look at the icons on the tool bar. Can you see a small black upside down triangle at the side of every icon, well if you click on it a drop down menu will appear with all sorts of things on it.
The one you want is on the left of the search box. look for options and personalize your tool bar.
you can also highlight the search and press delete on your keyboard.

Do you have the yahoo toolbar? If you do, there's a little pencil right next to the search bar, click on it and choose "clear search history". Hope it helps!!
