i have to choose either ap chem or college alg/trig. so the thing is, i'm not very "good" at chem. i made a's and b's when i took pre ap chem and i basically struggled my way through the class and i probably won't end up taking the ap chem test or if i do i wont be able to make a 3+ on it. the only reason, i'm considering the ap chem class is because i was told colleges like students to take advance courses like ap classes and im in 2 right now. as far as my major in college, it'll be in liberal arts/science.

as far as college alg/trig, i can understand math concepts better than chem concepts but the thing is colleges out of state won't accept the college credit if i get accepted to one. and i'm not sure if i want to go in or out of state yet. the deal with the college us hist class was that last year i signed up for ap us hist but the counselors never told me that class never made so they put me in regular us hist. so i'm debating whether i should take the college us hist because if i do go to a college in state they would accept the credit but if i don't they wont. i know this is long but any suggestion would be very helpful. thank you.

In actuality, if you do not make a 3 on the chem AP, then colleges usually will not give you credit either way, so it would probably be wiser to take the alg/trig class, since it is advanced, although not an AP class.

Taking an AP class is good, but if you really think you can't get a 3 or if it has nothing to do with what you want to major in... don't take it!!! If it's something you struggle in, then it'll just be more stress. As for the alg/trig class, even if some colleges don't give you college credit for taking it, many colleges let you take tests to pass out of a class before classes start... so you can get credit that way. I took Spanish in hs (it wasn't AP).. when I got to college I took their test to see if I could pass out of any Spanish classes... I ended up getting 9 credits, so I passed out of 3 semesters of Spanish... and I only needed 2 semesters for my major.

How about taking modules that will interest you?
AP chemistry may not be very relevant to your future career path, unless you want to be a chemistry teacher, chemist or researcher.
Chemistry is quite tough and many people find it hard to understand.

Maths can be fairly attractive option too. How about interviewing your seniors and get a feel of what maths, chemistry or other modules are like before you make a choice?

Really, colleges look to see if you are not taking "Lazy Classes," so as long as that Math class is advanced, you will be good anyways.
Also, it will be better for you if you are more interested in that class!
