Get in the bathroom and check on him. If he is okay, great. After that, if there is a lock on the bathroom door remove it. A four year old does not need alone time in the bathroom, that's what his room is for (again no lock on the door).

He's four....most 4 year olds live in the moment unless something really bad is going on in their life....if they are watching a movie, all they think about is the movie, if they are blowing bubbles, all they think about is the bubbles, if they are taking a bath, all they're thinking about is playing in the bath tub....4 year olds don't usually think things through...but if he likes to be alone, let him play in his room for a while (without locking the door) When he takes a bath check on him every 5-10 minutes or so. Tell him he can close the door but not lock it, if something happens while he's in there, you might not be able to get to him quick enough if its locked. Listen closely against the door, can you hear water splashing around, or can you hear him talking or singing to himself? Making sound effects with the toys (if there are any)? If you can he's most likely ok. But if you can't hear anything and he's not answering, yell, make him a little scared, and if still no answer find a way to get in the bathroom...quick. if hes ok, tell him to answer next time so you know he's alright. If it happens again where he doesn't answer, get rid of the lock.

He's 4years old . too young to be alone in the bath tub or bath room that long. Insist he answer you and un lock the door or else you will get in . If you dont have a key or way to un lock the door . take it off the hinges. sounds stupid but he is your 4 year old son in there, and why you let him in there with the door locked is very stupid on your part.

He's 4? He shouldn't be in the bathtub with the door locked. Anything can happen for goodness sakes. It's all well and good for him to be in the tub but not with the door locked.

Nah, leave him in there and walk away. If he doesn't come out in three days, axe down the door. Come on already, wise up! He has to come out sooner or later. Think what through? He is four for pete's sake! Let him come out and then tell the little brat if he ever does it again you will give him something to think about! Also, remove the lock on your bathroom door. Duh!

you should be suspicious because you don't know whats going on. if your four-year old is locking himself in the bathroom, you could probably investigate when you go in there. he will probably leave stuff around so you can easilly see wha kind of stuff he's been doing.

Ask him to answer you. If he does, then he's okay.
If he doesn't, ask again, and again, then yell as angrily as you possibly can. If there is no response or sound from him whatsoever...you better call the paramedics...
