does this mean with a few more Braxton Hicks that I should be pushing baby out shortly or is that still no way to tell? I'm thinking by the 2nd. (at the latest)

it is terrible to have a soft cervix and nothing is happening. im due sept 4th and have had a soft cervix for 3 weeks and only dilated to a 1, maybe 2 cm. i am anxious as well, but everyone is different. you probally know already, but when the contractions get longer, stronger and closer together in a pattern, for at least an hour then you are ready to have baby! good luck with the waiting game!

your cervix will soften in the last few weeks of pregnancy..it's preparing to stretch to accommodate the passage of the baby. if you are dilated 1-2cm it's about the size of a dime or nickel. you can stay that way for 3 weeks or more. braxton-hicks contractions is not labor. when you have ctx regularly over the course of 2 hours, coming every five minutes and lasting for 1-1 1/2 min. you are in active labor. usually you feel pain in your lower back radiating around and a tightening across your belly. page your doc and get to the hospital.

First let me say Congtatulations on your New Bundle of Joy . Second , even though your cervix is softened it could still be a little while before your baby is born . And form my own experiance I went past my due date with 3 of my 4 kids and had to have inductions even though my cervix was completly softened and ready and I had to have my water broke also . I learned one very Important thing and that is that EVERY Pregnancy is different !!!!

It means your cervix is ripening or softening. Unfortunately there are not tell tale signs unless your are contracting like a mad woman that labor is on its way. I had a friend in the same boat and she had to be induced after her due date. Dont rush it your bundle of joy will be here before you know it. Congrats and good luck

That means it is about time you are ready to be in labor. You will feel a lot of pain during labor, but after the labor is over, you will feel that it is worst every minute of pain you are going throug.
Be ready to be a mother waking up every three hours to feed the new born.
