Well I use NERO very easy to use, just go to make a DVD and then add the files, ie the movie, and if your DVD player is the right one to play the DVD then sit back and watch. You can use NERO for copying DVD your own of course, then recode them to a DVD. However in this case you would need a decrypter which you can download form the net

I use Nero for all my transcoding. If you open Nero Vision and select Make DVD - DVD Video - Add video files you'll then be able to select which film you want to transcode.(Also if u press more here it'll open more options and u can click automatic chapters) Click next - There's a couple of screens for u to type in name;pick a background etc if you want to bother with them otherwise click next until you can see the screen where it says "Burn" Pop in your empty DVD and wait. This takes some time(45 mins on my comp but 2/3 hrs on my laptop)

There is also some files that you d/l called bin and cue files. These can be burned using Nero Burning ROM. Basically just click on the smaller of the 2(not sure which it is) and it should open this program.(if not you'll have to associate the file with the program by right-clicking on it and choose open with - choose program and clicking on Nero Image(picture looks like a building on fire)) Anyway when you click on the file it should open Nero Burning ROM which is fairly straightforward. These files burn to CD not DVD.

You need the following:

1. a DVD burner.
2. Nero 6
3. DVD Decrypter
4. DVD shrink.
5. A bit of knowledge.

Check out link below.

P.S. most DVD players need the DVD to be in DVD-R format.

Convert movie file into DVD format.
Burn this DVD format file to a DVD.
Unless you already know, burn to a DVD+R & also DVD-R & see which of these formats your DVD player plays/supports.. (It may support both but often they don't. You can also test out with DVD+RW & DVD-RW to see which of these it supports)

You can convert & burn to DVD using a program called dvdSanta from http://www.dvdsanta.com/index.html

Use nero recode and convert file to VCD then use nero express and burn a VCD(video CD). VCD is compatible with most newer DVD players and you can burn them on a regular cd-r disc if you don't have a DVD Burner.
