No, swinging will not save a marriage in trouble, all it will do is hasten it's demise. It will just add one more dimension to a already troubled situation.
As was once said “Swinging won’t heal a bad relationship, but it sure as hell won’t kill a good marriage.”
Those who swing successfully have a very strong marriage to begin with and for them swinging just makes it stronger and brings them even closer. It seems odd, but it's very true. In a 2000 study done by Bellarmine University 79% of swingers rated their marraige as "very happy" compared to only 64% of the respondants of a general society survey. Only 22% of swingers listed their relationship as being "Pretty or not too happy" compared to 36% of non-swingers.
62.6% of swingers reported their marriage as being happier after they started to swing, 35.6% reported their marriage staying about the same, and only 1.8% reported their marriage getting worse because of swinging.
What was really interesting is that it was split almost exactly between genders with 62% of women saying their marriage was better to 62.9% of men and 35.3% of women saying it stayed about the same compared to 35.% of men.
When asked the question "At this point in your life would you say you are very happy, pretty happy, or not too happy?" 58.8% of swingers stated their life was "very happy" compared to only 32.2% of the general societal survey.
Hope that answers your question.

Swinging activities can include between others:
Exhibitionism: having sex while being watched.
Voyeurism: watching others have sex.
Soft Swinging or Soft Swap: kissing, stroking, or having oral sex with a third or fourth person.
Full Swap: having penetrative sex with someone other than ones partner.
Group Sex: sex with multiple partners in the same room.
Swinging occurs when a married or otherwise committed couple engages with either another couple, multiple couples, or a single individual. Most time swinging occurs in the same room though different or separate room swinging is practiced. Sex during the swinging is often referred to as play.
Couple are aware that the partners are engage in sexual activities and such activity is not considered infidelity.
How much it can save a marriage decide by yourself.

Well we dont exactly swing, but we do date other women together and that has been both a wonderful and difficult thing. We know a large number of people who either swing or date singles together. Generally this enhances a good marriage and quickly destroys a weak one.

No it doesn't. Sometimes it might help with some of the problems, but sooner or later you get into a trap where your spouse and you can't enjoy or trust each other at all. It usually leads to meetings that one person isn't aware of, and it leads to mis-trust. Re-think things. A divorce is probably the thing that will work best, and I hope that you two don't have children, because they are the ones who will feel the worst.

If you were secure enough in your relationship to handle swinging, you wouldn't be asking the question. Try a marriage counselor instead.

Swinging is WRONG either way you look at it it's cheating you get married to be committed to each other not to start cheating if someone is into cheating they sures heck don't need to get married or even if they have thoughts having sex with someone else they don't need to get married if someone is having marital problems they should seek counseling or spice up their sex life theirs some really neat adult games and all sorts of different novelties for adults and I don't mean porno either I think porno is wrong also just nothing wrong with pleasing each other and being romantic and exploring each other

My husband was interested in swinging... back when we were DATING! (we were both virgins if you were curious) and we swung... and swung.. and swung but I ended up feeling like a piece of meat and he got... I have no clue... maybe a better version of porn? And it was helped destroy our marriage.
It might be ok for strong marriages but for weak one... this is NOT the answer.

Nope - how could it possibly save it ???
You tend to find one partner ends up very jealous and things go from bad to worse... It is usually the person who suggests it that finds they cannot cope with the attention that the other is getting as well !
