Does anyone know what site I can go on that will teach you how to draw step-by-step online for free? I want to draw hands, realistic animals, and fantasy creatures.

There are a few sites that offer drawing advice and /or step by step instruction that I know of. Probably many many more...Check these out

http://drawsketch.about.com/library/bl-step-cat.htm
http://www.learn-to-draw.com
http://www.artinstructionschools.com free art test
http://ais.lmswebmktg.com/ais/unique/87958.php?t10=1
http://www.drawsketch.about.com/library/bl-step-tropical-fish.htm

I hope this helps. I am also a member of www.Artwanted.com and they have a forum which has tutorials from and for its members on all kinds of things. There are lots of wonderful artists here and you can ask any questions on the forum.

Drawing realistic people and animals is all about anatomy.
The shape and proportion must be learned by studying anatomy.
When you understand what you are drawing than it is just practice.
