In an update to a story posted last week by Adam Martin the word going around WWE right now is that Kurt Angle has suffered a groin tear and will not be in action for a while.
Angle was scheduled to be involved in the Sabu vs Big Show match at SummerSlam making it a three way dance for the ECW Title but WWE decided to keep him off because of the injury.
He was then scheduled to work a squash match at the ECW house show on Monday night in Altoona, PA but was again pulled from the show because of the injury. And obviously Angle was not apart of the ECW on Sci Fi broadcast last night.
The thought is right now, regardless of whether or not Angle believes it, the injury could become a serious one and WWE has decided to pull him from any in ring action for the time being to heal the injury.
So I guess if they cant use him they cut him.

I think the WWE did him a favor. They knew he was going to drive himself into an early grave. Kurt had some major problems going on he needed to address:
1. His neck is one good hit away from sending our Olympic Hero into paralysis. He got a quick fix surgery. He needs a fusion like Beniot, Lita, and Stone Cold received.
2. Torn tricep
3. Torn groin
4. He is going thru a divorce with Karen Angle (his wife of 7 or 8 years)
5. He's burned out
6. He has had troubles in the locker room
7. This is just forcing him to heal from injuries and deal with his problems.
Once he gets thru all these issues, the WWE will take him back with open arms. He is one of the best ever!

He went to ECW. Paul Heyman saw him as a new vision for the new breed of ECW. So Kurt Angle left WWE and went to ECW, even though in my opinion is a huge mistake on his part.

You guys do realize that ECW is actually owned by the WWE now right? Think of it as the WWE = Raw, Smackdown and ECW.

He's been released because if he was still wrestling he'd be crippled or dead in about 2 months. He's in the worst physical shape he's ever been in. At Wrestlemania weekend he was constantly in pain. He was even walking around backstage and in the hotel with an ice pack around his neck all the time because it hurt so much.

It was due to personal issues, he left today. Hopefully he will return to Smackdown, where he belongs, as Smackdown now only has a couple of likely contenders for the World title
