I took a left hand turn onto a road, and my rear wheels made noise like they were dragging, and it was difficult to turn. I drove down the road and it felt normal, then I made another turn and it did the same thing. After a few times of this I got where I was going and checked out the tire I thought were flat. THey weren't. About 15 minutes later I came back out, backed out of a parking spot and when drove off, when i came to a stop sign, I heard a clunking noise in the rear end, and after that, the car turned fine. Someone help, I can't afford to get a mechanic right now.

sounds like something in the differential

Well, one question. Is the E brake off completely? I know it sounds silly, but is possible. The other thing that could be possibly wrong, is the fluid in the rear axle area. Sometimes when it wears out, the differential acts funny, especially on turns. Some cars, and trucks have a thing called limited slip, or posi track. It helps to let both wheels spin/ move in the same direction. And when the fluid isn't right, it'll cause noises, and skipping or anything of the sort. May want to get it checked out by the dealership, as they might have a recall, or something. Good luck, and hope it helps.

By what I'm reading here, I'd say you have a problem with the spider gears in the differential. These gears do not rotate until you turn a corner. If the gears are damaged, they could be jamming and not allowing the rear wheels to differentiate when cornering. The clunk you heard was probably the gears breaking. I would NOT drive this vehicle. Have it towed to a shop and get the differential inspected. The spider gears are cheaper to fix then the crown & pinion, which will certainty get destroyed if you continue to drive it this way

you may have a caliper problem....or you may have a rear end problem.....on occassion you can have calipers lock up and after sitting for a period of time loosen up again and allow you to turn the wheels freely.....I ran into this on a suburban....next time it happens pull up on the brake pedal to see if it loosens it up.....you best bet is to take it to a shop and just have it checked out.... it will be relatively cheap and you are never commited to buy anything....find out what it is and put some money together to get it fixed......you can't ignore the problem you may end up hurting yourself or some innocent person....drive safely
